Our Story and Mission
Our mission is to ensure that individuals in crisis are not left without options. Through coordinated relocation, emergency housing, and wraparound services, we provide a pathway to safety, stability, and dignity.
Our Story
The Trans American Underground was born from a man who simply saw the stresses and woes of people in the LGBTQ+ as well as veteran spaces, and wanted to help. As a popular creator on social media, he had the pleasure of hearing from so many people from all walks of life who were experiencing different levels of hardship, and it wounded him down to his very soul. As a trans man himself, his heart bled for each and every one. His name? On paper, it's Chris, but everyone who knows this man's soul calls him Jedi.
He looked at his wife one day, and the two of them created the Trans American Underground.
From there, it was a whirlwind of fun and stress, but mostly fun. Ally, their best friend, a beautiful trans woman, and an I.T. master came on board, and then Eden came to help her. The two of them run the tech gears behind the scenes, and we love them dearly for their efforts. Stacey, a trans woman and a veteran, came on board, along with Loot, a demisexual girl and Addi.
Stacey and Loot really help with social media coordination, and Addi is our logistical trans girlie, as well as a mechanic and a veteran.
Jedi realized something after this.
TAU needed a money guy.
They got a spit fire of a veteran instead. Her name is Britt, and she can turn a dollar into ten. We think she consorts with spirits for this, but we aren't sure. We don't ask, she doesn't tell.
Finally, they needed someone to handle human resources and paperwork, and they found their girl in the most unusual of places, the land of astrology. Her name is Amanda, she's a veteran as well, gender fluid as can be, and she handles human resource issues with a delicate firmness that is one hundred percent her.
